Chocolate Coffee Brownies

Add a layer of complexity to your brownies with real Guatemalan coffee and Antigua chocolate that’s crafted by local artisans. Macaw's coffee preserves are created using only Guatemalan sourced Antigua Arabica coffee beans, giving this dessert spread a delicate, smooth and well-rounded chocolatey coffee aroma. Our preserves are only lightly sweetened, so your coffee snack will never be too rich or overbearing. This spread also pairs well with a range of your other favorite foods and makes a delicious topping for toast, cheeses and cakes.
Add coffee to our brownie batter to create a delicious treat that's moist and wonderfully silky. There's no special preparation required; simply open a jar of coffee preserves and add a half cup to our easy-to-make Antigua chocolate batter.

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup Coffee Fruit Preserve
1/3 shredded Antigua Hot Chocolate
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
14 teaspoon baking powder


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
  • Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
  • Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs and Coffee Fruit Preserve.
  • Beat in hot chocolate, flour, salt and baking powder.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  • Allow to cool before decorating.
  • Spread more coffee preserves across the top (optional).
